So mydad got me this little blue typewriter thatI have right here (shows tattoo on shoulder).I took the typewriter in and had themput it on me.Although it did not occur to me that Icould do it for a living until Iwas much older.Guth’s tattoo (above)and the original.Do you have awriting routine?I used to sit downsomewhere between10 and 2,my most productivehours, morningand night, withcoffee or tea andscroll through myiTunes, until somethingjust clicked- you know, songsstir you in certainways, and I wouldput it on a loop andplay that song over and over.I used to write and let the CD play untilthe next song, but what I was writingwould change so much when the songchanged. WhenI was a little girl I used to write a littlenewspaper about what was going on inthe house, in school or whatever. She realized early on that socialmedia is a great tool for artists, andhas used an online presence to garnersupport for her multiple projects.When did you start writing?I’ve always written my whole life.
